More importantly, she spends all her time around mechanics and thus knows what tools to get:

Very nice! Mom’s got me a lot of tools over the years for when I get a garage any my own project car...not sure if my ratchet sets (I have 2) are lifetime warranty though...
I do need to get myself a ‘normal sized’ torque wrench and an impact gun....and a variable speed drill. I have no power tools and only a huge breaker bar-sized torque wrench atm! :S

Canafian tire has the non-clicky torque wrenchs for $25...

The clicky one is what I am after....afraid I’d screw it up using one that would more easily let me overtighten things if I wasn’t super careful....also aren’t the non-clicky ones less accurate?

Other way around. Clicky ones loose the calibration VERY easily if you forget to reset it to 0 after EVERY use.
And the non-clicky ones are pretty hard to over tighten with, as they dont have a ratcheting mechanism in them. So you have to reset every time and its pretty obvious how much you tightened it to

The clickey resetting would not bother me. As for the needle ones, I didn’t know that, thanks for the info! That $25 doesn’t have many good reviews though! :(

I heard the needle ones are really really inaccurate and the harbor freight ones are actually really accurate. I want one of these to add to the collection.

I was kinda expected some rubber/plastic handle on the ratchets, but at the same time, thinking about the ratchets we have with non-metal handles, and how shitty/grimy they get in no time... Good call!
